On the result. Finally.

"If I had to do anything else in the world I would be a failure. This is all I can do now and I want to do the best."
Synyster Gates, A7X. Cute, ain't he?

I called Ummi last night. It had been 2 days since I got my result and hadn't reported it to her just yet. Well, did I ever? Back in secondary school I remember how I forged her signature into the report card because of a D for Additional Mathematics. The numerical moron I am.

"I got last semester's result, Mi."
"Oh, so how was it?"
"So-so."
"Huh?"
"C for Child Development."
"Uh-uh"
"D for Philosophy."

Quiet.

Her heart was beating,
170km and wide blue sea separates me from my mother but I hear her heart beating
Wildly.

"Did you not  study?"
"Mom, I'm not done yet."
"Okay, what else?"
"E for Linguistics."
"You failed Linguistics!"
"and Literature as well. I hate English."

I heard  the name of Allah coming from Ummi.

Just then Nisrin, my roommate passed by and overheard the conversation. She laughed and muttered something about me being so naughty.

"So what now?"
"I don't know, repeat paper next week. If I failed that too..."

"Then I'll marry you off."

Just the mention of the word "marry" made me happy, for it reminded me of Madam Soo Hoo's Learner and Learning lecture earlier that morning about how to play with  infants. That made me so can't wait to fast forward 7 years, where I would have worked for 3 years, have enough money and a nice chap to marry. Then we'd have beautiful children I can't wait to put into practise what I just learnt from Madam Soo Hoo. I guess it's the maternal instinct in me *pukes*.

(Jay once joked about how terrible a mother I would make, putting on some heavy, headbanging metal for my babies instead of lullaby and nursery rhymes----but hey, my Dad put me on Metallica since I was like, 2, and look what I grow up into! A demure little young lady, haha)

Nah, it just that I have little brothers, like Adam, and I watched him grow up from a baby to a toddler and now a pre-schooler, and I missed it all now that he's a naughty little brat. I want to marry fast, and have children too. Beautiful children.

Ok, back to the phone call conversation between Ummi and I about the exam result.

Then I burst into laughter, and Ummi gave a sigh of relief. How can one ever lie to their mother? I mean, I did that for a number of time but I really don't think my mom fell for it. She didn't buy this one either.

"So tell me, what did you get out of not studying and bercinta like mad in maktab?"

I did not bercinta, and I am not now, but heck.

So the result is out. I must say I didn't do that well, but hey, for someone that didn't really study I guess I was pretty lucky. I screwed up on EDU papers with both B and B+, but Alhamdullillah, I managed to get an A for both my Linguistics and Literature. For that I have to thank Allah, my parents, my lecturers--and my friends who were so willing to study with me, the likes of Agy, Nis, Jay, Auni and the bunch. You know how I can't study alone, and that I wont without you guys--and for forcing me to get my ass of facebook and have study groups with you lovely people--that was something.

I didn't really mind the EDU paper, everyone knows I suck at remembering theories and facts, but it pulled my pointer (CGPA--whatchamacallit?) down, but still never mind. So long as I did best in the ones I like, I am satisfied.

Some of my coursemates complain bout TESL students having less pointers as compared to maths and science students but really....it's just pointers. in the end its not the figures, it comes down to what you learn and how you use that knowledge, right?

And Farah is still mad at me for not telling her my pointer. Well honey, what matters is I made it through you know, I passed, I get to continue my studies. I'm here to study, and when the new semester comes I just want to continue my studies, and not get my ass on top of the class and get 4-flat or something. But still, congrats to all of you, you guys deserve it.

I don't want to get a 4-flat. No, I just want to keep on studying. This is not a race, a competition, I mutter these words to myself like a mantra. I'm just gonna enjoy my life, study for a bit, and pass exams and live happily. That's all I ask for.

Just then, at the other end of the phone my Dad's voice speaks up.

"A 4-flat this semester and your wish is granted, little princess."

And that was when I pictured myself driving in a nice looking compact car around Penang, riding with my besties and singing Tata Young's Sexy Bitchy Naughty.

Damn, gotta go and read my lecture notes already!!
Love you.

Buried Alive Until The End-->Degree Years are sooooo sleeeepy!!

One week and I can't stand no more. This can kill. My grades.

I've been sleeping in class. It's true, and it happens. It's happening. That makes me fit in perfectly to Samuel Isaiah villain looking guy's criteria of a ....erm...welll.."otai" student. Like us lah.

I :
Sleep in class,
Don't study for exams,
Last minute assignment,
Late in handing in ISL, files, portfolios and other drag MQA shits
Skip assemblies.a lot
and
the list
just
goes on

The worst part is I'm the only girl in my class who are dozing off sleeping..fishing, meditating, bertakafur, whatever Mr. Teoh calls them. not to be sexist or something but the other gals are like so attentive. I mean, how do they do that?

Luckily, I am not the only one. The boys in my class..needless to say. Alep admitted to it even. Gosh, how cud I ever survive without such classmates who keep giving moral support. haha

Yesterday was crazy. 3 hours back-to-back of bed time stories. The only class I can quite stand so far is children literature--because I adore literature and well, Mr. Hussein is pretty good-looking. Haha, loves his voice, especially when he tells us the stories of Goldilock and Red Ridin Hood. weeee~

Today aint getting better. Lit BM is making my brain feel square. Petak you know. I suck at BM since primary school. In fact, i suck at everything since primary school. Maths, I never thought I'd learn it again here! My lecturer in matric used to tell me that I'd better off be married than studying maths. Damn. And the worst part is that MATHS THIS SEMESTER IS KILLING ME. The lecturer is very nice but then a lil too slow la the voice, so lullaby-ish!huhuhu I wish ummi is like that.

I need to find the cure for this. Too many sleepy subjects.

Let's see.

1. Plug in to Chop Suey--BYOB. (Wake UP!--who wouldve thought that, underneath my skull tudung?)
2. Eat sweets
(wait till Ramadhan....)
3. Get a handsome lecturer!
4. Get a awesomely pretty lecturer
(I've never slept in Madam Ro's class)
5. SLEEP EARLY AT NIGHT AND STOP STAYING UP n WASTING TIME ALL OVER THE INTERNET...duhhh

bye. got another phonology class later. technical stuffs. drag.

Now.

come on dude. be a man. be as tough as you look like. do it NOW.

You know this is for you.

Ain't gonna mention who. I like playing secrets.

Well, to the one who knows that this is for you, I really don't know how should I tell you this. I can just tell you to the face, but I don't have the guts to. I can text you, or ring you, but it would cost. So I decided to make it so public the whole world will be able to read this.

You won't mind, would you?

The thing is, dear the-one-who-knows-that-this-is-for-you, I know what is going through your mind now. Well, maybe not everything,  but something that concerns me and someone else. Well the-one-who-knows-that-this-is-for-you, you are right. It's true. The idea in your mind,  it's friggin true.

I just have to admit it here.

But let us put a stop to all this, will us? It's hurting me.

Shit Happens

No, this is not for you. Don't worry. Please.

Many things happened.

There were the good, the bad, and the ugly. The ugly, yes, we shall not leave out the ugly, shan’t we?

Everyone had problems. The argument between roommates. The silent treatment with classmates. The cold war between coursemates. The problems and show-cause letters with lecturers. The ones busted skipping assemblies (read: me).

But seriously, that’s not what we want to recall in like, 10 years from now? We’d only look and laugh at what a fool we were.

Anyway, the point here is, problems happen. SHIT HAPPENS. But don't ever let those things ruin our friendship, our bond. We may argue once in a while, yell at each other, but that’s healthy. Perfectly healthy. I tell you when you’re being an arrogant son of a bitch, and you tell me when I’m being a pain in the ass, so that we realise that we’re doing the wrong thing, so that next time, there will be NO NEXT TIME. So that when we’re about to do something, we bear in mind that somebody may get hurt. That way, we learn. We grow up.

Also, forgive and forget. It’s healthy to argue but DELUSIONAL to hold grudges. You make mistake, you screw up, it’s wisest to apologise. Forget about your ego, forget about losing. Forget about the bad time, forget why you argue; and think about all the good time you had with that person. All the memories, all the help, the laughter, the fun, the time spent together.

And forgive, no matter how wrong that person is, for him or her to have taken the courage to ask for your apology, you should forgive. Not many will be able to do that, but when you do it, you’ll feel great. You’ll feel awesome. You feel like somebody’s taken a heavy burden off your chest; regardless of you the one apologizing or forgiving. And no, unlike One Republic, it’s not too late to apologise. Or forgive. It never is.

Well beautiful and handsome people, I support world peace. Spread the love. We rock =)

To-do lists

who else do you think I should whine to anyways?

  • Get the register from HEP
  • See Madam Nadia, the tutor
  • See Mr. Chan Fan Ho and ask about last semester's ISL files
  • Get the rep for Malay Literacy (and the boys if possible) to get ML books
  • Give Madam Faezah our class name list.
  • Photostat tons of name lists
  • Madam Soo Hoo wants to see me tomorrow--first thing in the morning
  • ISL Phonology which is basically homework

You know I think I'm French inside. Yeah, the all-perasan-so-full-of-myself business. Well, if genes dont determine races you could just be anything you want to, and I want to be French. It's sexy, I guess. And there's something call the French kiss...and...

Ok let's stop the raunchy business, shall we?

Anyway, the point is, I've been plugging in to French songs lately. Not much rock anymore boys, sorry to say. I hardly understand a word, for I haven't learnt French yet. By saying that I mean I would love to learn it someday, after I've completed my Spanish. Cut the crap.

Yeah, French songs. Among the ones I love are Chapeaumelon and Plastic Bertrand. Oh, Plastic Bertrand, who would forget the cool classic punk hit Ça plane pour moi?

I adore the song to bits, singing and saying the famous phrase all the time like it was some kind of a mantra. Well, it actually means that "All is well for me".

Which is, ironically, not the case for Mademoiselle Mimi Schuhada Mimieux.

(Please dont write in and tell me that for making up a French last name I aint respecting my father. Go jump from Eiffel Tower.)

First day into the semester, I was elected as the class head. Lame-o, exactly. Well, it's responsibility anyways. Just my luck, I guess. I accept the work with open heart and open mind but please you look at the workload!

This is impossible. I am basically the bitchiest gal in class. The most problematic one, the laziest one. The most unorganised one. I am not the class head material, obviously.

Which is probably why they elected me.

Shit, how am I going to skip assemblies next time? Maybe I'll behave this sem. We'll see.
