Rock The World X

nope, i'm not writing bout the event cuz, it hasnt been held yet even and i dont know whether i'm attending.

Car Park A, Stadium Bukit Jalil

10.00am - Midnight
Tickets RM30 are available NOW at Ticketpro, Rock Corner & Music Valley outlets

i've asked Ummi about it. In the kitchen just now. she was, what else, cooking. and my mother always has the best mood when cooking cuz she believes that if otherwise, it will spoil the meal.

i've decided to come clean. tell her the truth. of course initially i planned to tell her half the truth. by tellin her that i'm going to KL, which is true, and not telling her that i was going to RTW.

but i felt guilty. i felt bad. in fact, i've talked to Nafis. the dude who indoctrinated my mind and influenced me with all this rock stuffs. Ummi, its all his fault!

That was a joke. I've been wantin to go since like 4 years ago.

But Nafis adviced me not to. According to his friends there will be a lot of mat rempits and indonesians there. Bottom line: dangerous. especially for a girl.like me. how thoughtful, no?

and plus, there aint gonna be Butterfingers. Our favourite band

But man. there's what,

Love Me Butch
Dragon Red

Bittersweet
Disagree
Lo
Gerhana Skacinta
Republic of Brickfields
They Will Kill Us All
One Buck Short
SevenCollar T-Shirt
Bleeding Mascara
Azlan & The Typewriter
Pop Shuvit
Bunkface
The Pilgrims
Massacre Conspiracy
Dichi Michi
Couple
Skudap Skudip

i grew up listening to more than HALF of this list in Hitz FM. I love Dragon Red. and Bittersweet. and SevenCollar T-Shirt. i've loved them since i was 15. and to see em live? of course!

Bottom line: i want to go. and it'll be my first gig. and i'll have Kimi to come with me.

so it went like,

"ummi, i nak pergi KL eh?"

"what for?"

"a concert."

"can you please get the turmeric powder for me? oh thanks. yeah, what for?"

"a concert."

"what concert?"

"nahh..ummi, its just some rock concert. You let Kimi go to KL after SPM. He'll come with me."

"No..when it is?"

"26th"

"No manja, I cant let you."

In her eyes I am still her little daughter. Still her manja. I'm 19 mother. I'm turning 20 next year. in 4 years time I'll be teaching. and maybe a few years after that, get married to a handsome, sweet young chap. i'm leaving you soon.

you must let me go. lets start off with a concert, okay?

i am no longer the teenager that bangs the door or cries in my room, sulks and skip my meals (hunger strikes) when mother says NO. So i asked her,

"why not?"

"well what if your aunt finds out?"

"i'll worry about that when it happens. if it happens. but mom, what would auntie do in a rock concert?"

"what if she passes by or something?"

"ummi..please...plus, when else shall i ever go to a gig?"

"gig?"

"yeah, gig, rock concert."

"when you start working, you can go where ever you want. Like your aunt, she's going to Indonesia next month. No one's stopping her, no?"

its like we were playing chess.

"But mi, when I start working I'm a teacher. Teachers dont go to rock concerts."

"and you suppose future teachers do?"

checkmate.

"ummi..please....let me go, okay?"

"set the table up for lunch."

dropping the subject, she stopped answering and i stopped questioning. never mind. gonna ask her again tonight! haha

well, as much as i love rock, i love Ummi more. so, if my Ummi wont let me when I ask her again tonight, then i guess...i wont be going. there's a lot of things in my life that ummi warned me not to do and i took that risk. and i regretted. i dont want it to happen again next time. so i will, and forever be, my ummi's manja daughter.

this is not something worth going against my Ummi for, no? No ACAB even. and 30bucks for 19 bands?  please.

No, I ain't got a boyfriend because I am a lesbian

how about that for an answer?

In just a week, I was asked about boyfriend not once, not twice, but thrice. thats three times btw.

ummi and my aunt

"has nurul a boyfriend?"
"she has a lot of friends, but nobody serious....But I read in her blog she wants to marry a French"
"Hmmm..."

Imah, my cousin, after talking bout her man

"so...what about you? dont tell me you didnt fall for any cute teachers to be at your institute"

this i must admit, is the most advance one. from my long-lost secondary school teacher, Cikgu Dila

"so..how's your boyfriend? why, there's nobody cute in Penang?" .

i mean, Boyfriend! Give me a break. I'm 19 and 2 months. Why are they all asking me about, of all things in the world that I dont have, a goddamn boyfriend like I'm a 40-year-old unmarried woman who should be wed asap?

like seriously, do all (cute) 19-year-old teacher-to-be have to have a boyfriend? or even a crush? for the time being i've got none of both. and i'm just, happy for what i am now. single. what good is a boyfriend just because every other girl friends of mine is having one? orang couple hang nak jugak. watpe weyh?

i must admit, i'v had the best of both world. single and in a relationship. i wouldnt say one is better than another. being single is fun, free, you get to be friendly with anyone without feeling guilty. and for God sake, if I'm friendly with somebody aint mean I'm interested. No way. if I like someone, i would say. i would tell him. try me.

I must admit at times i do miss having someone to talk to late at nights, all the midnight calls, someone to text and go mushy-mushy when things go wrong. someone to say I love you and he says, I love you too, that kind of thang. someone to go hang out by the beach with. go dating with. but hey, i've got that someone. my besties. my girl friends.

not to say i aint need a man. i sometime feel bad at the thought of being alone. you know, when all this ghettos (get together) with cousins, they were like indulged in their handphone, texting their half. their boyfriends like its their oxygen. and i stuck there playing Snake World or any other game in my handphone. huhu

ok. enough babbling. and please dont write in, drop a comment and say i aint got a bf cuz i aint pretty. or that i jual mahal. cuz. as far as i am concern there aint a thing to sell. haha

i love you all. and NO. I dont have a crush to you. please dont get so full of yourself. ok?

one day i'm gonna don this shirt. when i date Robert Pattinson

psst:
to Kak Liyana Saidi and those on Facebook
this is a joke. a poser, i would say, to ward off his ( and my) exs. haha. puh-leez. whoever dates their distant cousin whom theyve known since birth, since both wear diapers? not me!

and please. dont write it to tell me that i'm single cuz i cant get over my exs. cuz i did. all 4 of them. its them who cant get over me. well. haha

Coffee, French, Me, You

Bonjour!

J'adore le café

\

Somehow I couldn’t sleep tonight. Nah, I wouldn’t say somehow, cuz I drank coffee this evening. So that explains why I’m still up, and why I am so freaking anxious, like serabut, messed-up, you know.

I love coffee. My favourite is Tenom, a kind of coffee from Sabah. Nah, i dont do Starbucks or CoffeeBean thou. Not like I cant afford to, heck yeah I cant, but its like, not like they taste good either.

But Tenom,  It’s awesome, a lecturer introduced it to me and I quickly fell in love. I still get Uncle Fauzi in Semporna to get them for me. i like my coffee to be bitter, although i read somewhere it said that sweet coffee boosts the brain or sth. still i like coffee. i think i'm very French about it.

If genes dont determine race, like in the play "Trying to Find Chinatown" by David Henry Hwang, I guess I'm French. I love coffee. I have a long face, and in my dreams I smoke. I'm also romantic. I'm also a brunnette. haha. I have nice eyebrows like most french people.

a-la French peasant
and like the French i'm always being misjudged. People think they're rude and stink and that french women dont shave. People think I'm stuck up and arrogant, unfriendly. of course those are not true. well. whatever. i dont think the french could care less and so am i.

mademoiselle!

and of course, the French love fashion--so am I. Big fan. The french are also courteous (am I not?) and are direct, too. They are also accustomed to speakin their minds out and to the point. Haha couldnt be more true. I spoke my mind up too much on a Sociology class that I was instantly Ms Patricia's public enemy numero un. (#1)

So here I am babbling bout coffee and the fact that i could be be French when I can’t sleep.heck. tomorrows the big day.and im dead tired already. and the draggest thing. urrgh. but i cant sleep cuz as the French in me made me drink tons of coffee and now i'm lyying on my bed, thinking of you.

know what. you're just like coffee .you're hot. and you make my heart beats wildly, the way coffee would. you smell good too, like coffee.

and i love you as much as i love coffee.

what would the world be without coffee, and what would my world be without you?

*******************

psst: i aint a french, but my children will be. Ummi, i'm marryin a French. ohh lala!

psst: fashion critique, i know the make ups are awful, kinda weird, but hey! thats what they do on French runways...so shaddap!
